Color Headshots

Paula was shot outside using color film. Sometimes it is more fun to shoot outside. Photographers are sometimes more creative when shooting on location in a foreign environment.

In this image the sun was peeking out over the shady area where I placed the model. It created a natural hair light. The result is lively but if I had it to do over again I would flag the hotspot a bit. Shooting in available light can be fun and spontaneous but is also a little more raw.

I shot this with a huge 400mm lens -- the type used by sports photographers to capture action from the sidelines. Fashion photographers and others use this lens to flatten perspecptive and for its shallow depth of field.

Headshots are seldom shot with this lens because it is huge, cumbersome and expensive.
