In Studio and on Location
We shoot headshots for Los Angeles actors at our studio in Gardena - 15 miles south of downtown Los Angeles and 15 miles southeast of Santa Monica. We shoot on location all over Los Angeles, other areas in southern California and parts of northern California.
Studio shoots are safe because all equipment is in place and the light can be predictably controlled. Inexperienced actors may feel more comfortable in studio.
Location shoots are generally more expensive and require the transportation of equipment and crew. They can also be more fun and lively. Improvised backgrounds and organic lighting conditions often produce a fresh headshot. Actors who want a stylish or unusual headshot may opt to shoot on location. Digital Headshots -- Color or Black and White
Digital Headshots can be reproduced in color or black and white. Although traditionally, headshots were black and white, casting agents are now requesting that actors submit color headshots in digital format. Often these images are emailed or uploaded to online casting services such as LA Casting. We provide headshots that are formatted for email as well as for printing.
Reproducing color headshots was cost prohibitive until recently. Now digital offset printing and photographic reproduction has made color headshots affordable.
Converting a digital headshot to black and white can be a very simple operation in photoshop. Although it is more difficult and labor intensive, we use a custom algorithm to convert the headshot from digital color to black and white to produce more pleasing tonal properties than the commonly used generic conversion.
Headshot Retouching
Retouching is included in the price of the headshoot shoot. This is a great value and helps make getting a professional headshot an easy and pain-free experience. Professional retouching is necessary to clean up any imperfections and to produce a strong image. We will help you look great, but we won't make drastic changes to the way you look.
Guarantee
We absolutely guarantee that you will get great headshots. If there are no good headshots because of a technical mishap, we will gladly reshoot. However this has never happened and probably never will because we review the images during the shoot and adjust accordingly. All requests for changes must be made during the shoot -- not after. Obviously we will not reshoot if a model isn't satisfied with their own pose or expression.
Rescheduling
Deposits and payments to stylists are never refundable. You may reschedule up to 48 hours in advance at no extra charge. Rescheduling between 12 and 48 hours prior to the shoot will incur a $75 fee. Canceling within 12 hours will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
